Freedom At Midnight Trailer

The show’s trailer opens with British prime minister Clement Atlee announcing in 1947 his government’s plan to leave India. Far away in India, a girl rushes to Mahatma Gandhi, revered as Bapu, and informs her that India will attain freedom on August 15.

The Indian National Congress leaders in a meeting are slamming the British for its proposal to divide India on communal lines. On the other hand, Muhammad Ali Jinnah is firm on his demand for an independent Muslim state of Pakistan.

The show chronicles the last days of freedom struggle which not only culminated with Independence but bore the painful Partition as well. The show has references to the 1946 Direct Action Day when riots took place.
