Hrithik Roshan congratulated the team of Stree 2 after the Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor starrer horror comedy became the highest grossing Hindi film ever.

Stree part 1 was brilliant and the idea of taking that seed and building a universe and watching it all come together in Stree 2 is applause worthy! Bravo to the teams that brought this to celluloid. You guys are true stars. Congratulations Dinesh Vijan, @MaddockFilms , @jiostudios, @amarkaushik , @nirenbhatt and the entire cast & crew! May we continue to have many more such happy times at the movies,” the Fighter actor wrote on X.
Maddock Films replied to Roshan, saying,”Thank you so much @iHrithik ! The universe just got bigger with your love!”
Stree 2 breaks Jawan’s record
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Stree 2 became the highest ever grossing film and is on the verge of crossing Rs 600 crore collection.
“#Stree2 continues its RECORD-SMASHING run… Week 5 was remarkable, it raced to the No 1 spot as the highest-grossing #Hindi film… It’s now on the verge of achieving yet another major milestone: a majestic entry into the ₹ 600 cr Club,” Adarsh posted on X.
Stree 2 has broken the record of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan, Adarsh had confirmed in another X post on September 18.
“#Stree2 scripts HISTORY… Becomes the HIGHEST-GROSSING *HINDI* FILM EVER… Crosses *lifetime biz* of #Jawan [#Hindi version]… Next stop: Inaugurating the ₹ 600 cr Club,” he had posted.
Varun Dhawan shares sweet wish for Atlee on Baby John producer’s birthday
Directed by Atlee, 2023 blockbuster Jawan featured Shah Rukh Khan in dual roles of Vikram Rathore and Azad. The film also featured Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani and Sunil Grover. Sanjay Dutt and Deepika Padukone made cameo appearances.
Jawan was SRK’s second release of 2023 after Yash Raj’s spy universe flick Pathaan. Khan also featured in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki at the end of last year.
Stree 2
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is the fifth film in the Maddock horror universe. A sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, the flick features Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles. Stree 2 also has Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Sunita Rajwar, Mushtaq Khan and Anya Singh in it.
Actor Tamannah has a cameo appearance and features in song ‘Aaj Ki Raat’, which has become a blockbuster upon its release. Director Amar Kaushik is also in the film.
