Kareena Kapoor Khan is gearing up for multiplex giant PVR’s week-long Kareena Kapoor Khan Film Festival, set to begin on September 20, as she completes 25 years in the Hindi film industry. The 43-year-old actor’s most iconic films will re-release across PVR INOX theatres in the multi-city film festival named after her.

Kareena took to Instagram and shared a picture of her with a portrait of her late grandfather Raj Kapoor. “Carrying his love and lessons with me, always (red heart emoji),” she posted. Take a look at her story.

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s latest film The Buckingham Murders released last week on September 13. The film directed by Hansal Mehta portrays her donning the role of a detective to investigate the murder of a child. The film also features Ranveer Brar and Ash Tandon in pivotal roles.


The actor will next be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, expected to release around Diwali. The fifth film in the director’s cop universe will feature Ajay Devgn reprise his role as police officer Bajirao Singham. Kareena, who had shared the screen space with him in Singham Returns, will feature in the film. Singham Again also features Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff and Tiger Shroff in vital roles. Ranveer Singh will reprise his role of cop Sangram Bhalerao aka Simba and Akshay Kumar as Veer Sooryavanshi in cameo appearances.


Kareena Kapoor Khan was last seen in heist comedy film Crew, which released on March 29. She along with Kriti Sanon and Tabu played flight crew members who are involved in a gold smuggling operation. Crew also featured Diljit Dosanjh and comedian-actor Kapil Sharma in pivotal roles.

Kareena Kapoor Khan made her film debut opposite debutante Abhishek Bachchan in JP Dutta’s Refugee in 2000. She featured in Shah Rukh Khan’s Asoka in 2001, based on the life of Mauryan emperor Ashoka The Great.

Kareena was then cast opposite Hrithik Roshan in Karan Johar’s family drama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. The film featured Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol with Rani Mukerjee in a cameo appearance. Some of her other notable films include LOC: Kargil, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Tashan, Yuva, Ra.One, Aitraaz, Omkara, Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3, Kurbaan and more.

Kareena Kapoor Khan won accolades for her performance as Geet in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met. She was paired opposite ex-beau Shahid Kapooor in the film. The actor has worked with several top A-listers of the industry including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, husband Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and more.

Kareena Kapoor is the younger daughter of yesteryear actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita. She is the grand daughter of Raj Kapoor, also revered as ‘Showman’. Karisma Kapoor, also an actor, is her elder sibling. Actor Ranbir Kapoor is her cousin and Alia Bhatt her sister-in-law.

Kareena briefly dated Shahid Kapoor in early 2000s before breaking up with him during the filming of Jab We Met. She later dated Saif Ali Khan, who was previously married to Amrita Singh. The duo tied the knot in 2012. Saif and Kareena have two sons, Taimur and Jeh. Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan are her step-children.
