It’s the second day of 2025 and we hope you had a fabulous start to the New Year. And what’s better than getting an amazing recommendation to watch on your screens. Lucky Baskhar, a Telugu period thriller starring Dulquer Salmaan, I watched last night on Netflix and hope you would like it too.
Lucky Baskhar plot
The film starts in 1992, when Baskhar Kumar is taken to Magadha Bank’s Colaba branch by CBI officials, who are probing alleged fund embezzlement. He then narrates the story in flashback, when Baskhar was a cashier at the bank.
Baskhar owed money to many creditors in his locality, and would find it difficult to even buy snacks for his son. He along with a colleague Samba, a peon at his bank, would pocket extra money by writing cheques and filling out bank forms.

But nothing is going well for Baskhar. His promotion at the bank was given to someone else. The family is going through terrible financial crisis.
After a creditor takes away his scooter, Baskhar accepts an offer from a smuggler named Anthony. He steals Rs 2 lakh from the bank’s vault and gives it to Anthony for releasing illegal television sets from the customs at the port.
Together with Anthony and Samba, Baskhar sells off these television sets and they earn double the money. Slowly, he clears debts of others and improves his lifestyle. He continues to steal money from the bank and return it after earning profits.
One day, Baskhar is shocked to see that two of his senior colleagues including the assistant general manager are arrested for providing loans through fraudulent means. Baskhar is promoted and is now an assistant general manager. But he discovers something big unfolding in the bank that changes his life all of a sudden.
