If you are a fan of Mirzapur universe, this news will definitely surprise you. Excel Movies have announced the cinematic adaption of the popular web show.
A 1.33 minute announcement teaser of Mirzapur The Film was shared by the makers on their YouTube channel. The teaser shows Pankaj Tripathi reprising his role of Akhandanand Tripathi alias Kaleen Bhaiya, the baahubali of Mirzapur.
“Gaddi ka mahatva aap jaante hi hain (Everyone knows the important of throne),” says Kaleen Bhaiya as he sits on the throne of Mirzapur he undisputedly held until being challenged by Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal).
“Risk lena hamari USP hai (Taking risk is my USP),” says Guddu Pandit. However, the makers savoured the best moment for the last. Munna Tripathi, who was shown as killed by Pandit in the web show’s second season, returns with his original swag.

“Bole The Na, Hum Amar Hain (Need to remind you, I am immortal),” says Munna Tripathi, essayed by Divyenndu. The Mirzapur fans had sorely missed Munna bhaiya in the third season, with several viewers complained that his absence badly hit the show. The teaser also shows the return of Compounder (Abhishek Banerjee), Munna’s trusted aide who was killed in the first season itself.

Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, Mirzapur The Film will release in cinemas in 2026. The film has been written by Puneet Krishna and directed by Gurmeet Singh.

Mirzapur, the web show first premiered on Amazon Prime in 2018. The first instalment featured Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Tripathi, Divyenndu, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Rajesh Tailang, Rasika Duggal, Abhishek Banerjee, Amit Sial and others.
The second season released in 2020 marked the entry of Anjum Sharma as Sharad Shukla, Vijay Verma playing dual roles of Bharat and Shatrughan Tyagi, Liliput, Isha Talwar as Madhuri Tripathi and Meghna Malik as Shakuntala Shukla. The third season of Mirzapur premiered in 2024.
