Netflix has shared the special teaser of Squid Games Season 2, the popular Korean survival thriller web series. The show, which became an overnight success upon its release in 2021, has already generated a lot of buzz ahead of the second season’s streaming date.

Squid Game Season 2 special teaser
The special teaser opens with Seong Gi-hun waking up on hearing a doorbell. With a gun in his hand, he opens the door only to find the masked guard from the game. The teaser does not reveal much other than the pink suit-clad masked guards who control the deadly survival game. But it is enough to generate massive buzz among the fans of this series.
In July this year, Netflix on its website Tudum had announced that the streaming platform’s most-watched series will end with the third season. The show’s director Hwang Dong-hyuk had said,“I am beyond excited to be writing this letter to announce the date for Season 2 and share the news of Season 3, the final season. The fierce clash between [Gi-hun and Front Man’s] two worlds will continue into the series finale with Season 3, which will be brought to you next year.”
Squid Game plot
Squid Game is a South Korean dystopian thriller about a survival game featuring 456 contestants. The show’s protagonist Seong Gi-hun is a divorced chauffeur and a gambler who gets into the game like other participants, who are facing economic crisis and risk their lives to be a part of this contest.
The contestants, wearing green tracksuits, are kept under constant watch by mask guards in pink jumpsuits. The games are overseen by a Front Man, clad in black mask and uniform. On losing the game, the contestants are killed.
Squid Game cast
Squid Game Season 2 features Lee Jung-jae who returns as Seong Gi-hun. The remaining cast is not revealed yet. The first instalment had Park Hae-soo, Wi Ha-joon, Jung Ho-yeon, Heo Sung-tae and O Yeong-su in pivotal roles.
When is Squid Game Season 2 streaming on Netflix?
Squid Game Season 2 will stream on Netflix on December 26. The third season will premiere in 2025.
