If you are a big Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone fan, here’s good news for you ahead of the New Year 2025. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, a film featuring the duo which won our hearts, is set to weave its old magic again in 2025.
We aren’t joking! The Ayan Mukerji film is set to re-release in theatres on January 3. Dharma Productions recently shared a post announcing that the 2013 hit is set to be released again. “We are all screaming because #YehJawaaniHaiDeewani is re-releasing on 3rd January! Save the date!” the Karan Johar-led production house posted on Instagram.
As a social media user pointed out, the film is re-releasing two days before Deepika Padukone’s birthday on January 5.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani plot
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is about four friends, Bunny alias Kabir (Ranbir), Naina (Deepika), Aditi (Kalki) and Avinash alias Avi.
Bunny, Aditi and Avi embark on a road trip to Himachal. At an encounter with old classmate Naina, now a medical student, Aditi mentions her plans for the trip.

Naina is a nerd and often complains about not having a life except for academics. She decides to join the trio on the trip, which helps her to rekindle friendship with the three schoolmates. Out of these, Bunny has a dream of his own: travel the world and has no interest in settling down.
After eight years, Naina is a doctor and works at a clinic. Bunny is a video journalist who travels the world. He gets to know through a video message that Aditi is getting married. All four friends unite at Aditi’s wedding in Rajasthan. The reunion has its share of bitter and sweet moments.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was produced by Karan Johar and Hiroo Yash Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions. The film was directed by Ayan Mukerji, marking the second collaboration between the filmmaker and Ranbir Kapoor after 2009 drama Wake Up Sid.
The film marked Deepika Padukone’s second project with Ranbir Kapoor after Bachna Ae Haseeno. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani marked a cameo by Madhuri Dixit in the song ‘Ghaghra’ while Rana Daggubati also did a cameo.
The film featured Farooq Sheikh, Tanvi Azmi, Dolly Ahluwalia, Evelyn Sharma, Poorna Jagannathan and Kunaal Roy Kapur.
