Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan’s Karan Arjun to re-release in cinemas on this date

Karan Arjun, the blockbuster film featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will re-release in theatres on November 22.

“Raakhi ji ne sahi kaha tha film mein ki mere Karan Arjun aayenge …November 22 ko duniya bhar ke cinema gharon mein!” Salman Khan, who played the titular role of Karan in Rakesh Roshan’s action drama, posted on Instagram.

Actor Hrithik Roshan, who worked as an assistant director with his father’s film, wrote on Instagram,”Cinema was never the same again… When Karan Arjun came together on the big screen for the first time ever. Re- live the reincarnation of Karan Arjun in theatres worldwide from 22nd November 2024!”

Karan Arjun joins the list of several films which have been re-released by their makers recently. Veer Zaara, Rockstar, Singham, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chak De! India are some of the films which re-released in theatres, evoking nostalgia among fans.

Karan Arjun plot and cast

Directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan, Karan Arjun was a massive commercial success upon its release in 1995. The film is set in a village in Rajasthan where Durga Singh (Rakhee Gulzar) lives with her two sons Karan and Arjun. They are the grandsons of Thakur Sangram Singh.

Durjan Singh, a relative of Durga got her husband killed to prevent him or the family to inherit the Thakur estate. He later murders both Karan and Arjun in broad daylight. A devastated but resolute Durga prays to Goddess Kali, urging the deity to return her sons.

Ironically, both Karan and Arjun are reborn in different locations. The film depicts how both the brothers unite and bring justice to their old mother.

As mentioned earlier, Karan Arjun featured Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan essaying the titular roles of Karan and Arjun respectively. Rakhee Gulzar played the role of their mother Durga while Amrish Puri essayed the role of main antagonist Durjan Singh. Mamata Kulkarni and Kajol were paired opposite Salman and Shah Rukh respectively.

The film also featured Johny Lever, Ashok Saraf, Ranjeet, Asif Sheikh, Jack Goud, Arjun, Illa Arun and others.
