Dhanush shares poster of his fourth directorial Idly Kadai: ‘Om Namashivaaya’

Actor Dhanush took to X and announced his fourth directorial ‘Idly Kadai’. The actor is co-producing his 52nd film with Aakash Baskaran.

#D52 #DD4 Om Namashivaaya,” Dhanush captioned the poster. The music of the film is being composed by GV Prakash Kumar. “A rural magic musical . In our village native folk … will be the base for this beautiful album … let’s goooooo #idlykadai #DD4 #D52 … will be special,” Kumar posted on X.

However, the remaining cast members of the film are not known.

Soon, the actor’s X feed was flooded with comments from his fans. “Another National award loading for Dhanush,” an X user posted.

Another user wrote,”Dhanush in God mode!”

Dhanush, a four-time National Award winner, was recently seen in Raayan, which he directed. He played Kathavaraayan or ‘Raayan’, a fast food stall owner in North Chennai who struggles to protect his family when they are stuck in a battle between two gangs. The film also featured Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, S. J. Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Prakash Raj, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Saravanan, Dileepan, Divya Pillai and others.



Dhanush will also been in National Award winning filmmaker Sekhar Kammula’s Kubera. He had shared the film’s title and his look from the film. Kubera also features Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh.

Apart from South cinema, Dhanush has earned praises for his performances in Hindi films. He made his Hindi film debut in Aanand L Rai’s Raanjhanaa. His role of an obsessive one-sided lover Kundan won him the Filmfare Best Male Debut award. The 2013 hit featured Sonam Kapoor, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub, Abhay Deol, Swara Bhasker, Deepika Amin, Kumud Mishra, Vipin Sharma and more.

In 2015, Dhanush shared the screen space with Amitabh Bachchan and Akshara Haasan in R Balki’s Shamitabh. He then collaborated with Aanand L Rai again for his third Hindi film Atrangi Re, which premiered on Disney Hotstar in 2021. The film also featured Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan in pivotal roles.
