Nayanthara, also revered as ‘Lady Superstar’, opens up about her struggles and life in Netflix’s latest documentary Nayanthara- Beyond The Fairytale. The one hour and 21 minutes long documentary has generated a lot of buzz ahead of its release.

“The lady superstar’s reign begins. Watch Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale on 18 November, only on Netflix,” the streaming platform posted on Instagram.

Born as Diana Mariam Kurien who converted to Hinduism in 2011, Nayanthara is one of the most popular actors in the country. The documentary shows the inner world of Nayanthara, which many fans would not know of.

The show has interviews of her family members and friends who speak about the actor. “I think I trusted people very easily,” says Nayanthara in the trailer, reacting to the gossips about her in the media.

“I don’t think I am going to give up, no matter what. I’m still going to run,” says the confident and feisty ‘Lady Superstar’.


The show also mentions Nayanthara’s turbulent relationships in the past. “I know my daughter very well. After God, I know her very well,” says the actor’s mother.

Nayanthara- Beyond The Fairytale features her husband Vignesh Shivan, also a filmmaker. “He is that person, my heart and soul was searching for,” Nayanthara talks about her better half. The show features the bond between her and Shivan, and of course the banter.

“He takes care of me more than anyone else in the whole world,” says Nayanthara about her husband.

Nayanthara’s fans would love to see unseen images and videos from her wedding in 2022, which had bigwigs like Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, Mani Ratnam, Karthi, Suriya, Jyotika, Vijay Sethupathi and more.

The documentary has interviews from her peers including Atlee, Nagarjuna Akkineni and others.

When asked why does Nayanthara need to make a Netflix documentary about her life, she says,”I just want everyone to feel a little bit of happiness when they see other people’s happiness.”

Nayanthara- Beyond The Fairytale releases on Netflix on November 18.
