Akshay Kumar will don the role of an Indian Air Force fighter pilot in Maddock’s latest offering, Sky Force, set to release on January 24 ahead of Republic Day. The makers of the Sandeep Kewlani & Abhishek Anil Kapur directorial unveiled the film’s trailer on Sunday.
The film is set against the backdrop of the 1965 Indo-Pak war. The trailer begins with a radio message from then-Pakistani military ruler Ayub Khan threatening India. As seen in the trailer, an Indian airbase is attacked by Pakistani Air Force jets.
Akshay Kumar is heard vowing revenge against Pakistan for the attack. Enters debutante Veer Pahariya as the IAF officer. During the airstrike, Pahariya’s character goes missing, leaving everyone to believe that he is alive and trapped in Pakistan.

Sky Force is produced by Maddock Films, also known for their supernatural universe genre. The film features Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur. According to the film’s trailer, it is an untold story of India’s first and deadliest airstrike.
Akshay Kumar upcoming films
Besides Sky Force, Akshay Kumar will also be seen in Jolly LLB 3, the courtroom drama also featuring Arshad Warsi. Kumar had featured in Jolly LLB 2, which released in 2017. The film was the second instalment of the first film featuring Warsi.
Akshay Kumar will also been in Housefull 5, the fifth instalment of the blockbuster franchise. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film is expected to release in June.
The actor will also be seen in Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan. It will release in 2026, marking the collaboration between Akshay Kumar and the filmmaker after 14 years. They last worked together in 2012 political satire Khatta Meetha.
Akshay Kumar was last seen in a cameo in Rohit Shetty’s 2024 cop universe film Singham Again. He reprised the role of Veer Sooryavanshi in the film. Singham Again saw Ajay Devgn reprise his role of Bajirao Singham. Ranveer Singh also played a cameo as cop Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba in the action drama. The film also featured Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and others.
